The majority of our commissions tend to focus on the complete redevelopment of a site. We deploy a proven, pragmatic, structured approach to designing your garden. We have a simple
4 step approach and we are here to guide you through it step by step.
Requirements
The design process starts with your requirements. We will work with you to help you to understand the potential of your site. This list forms the benchmark against which the design will be judged.
Site Survey
We will survey your site and draw up a site layout plan. We will take soil samples and create an existing plant audit. Together these items allow us to assess where we are starting from.
Initial Design
We will create an initial design based on the information that we have collected. We will organise a meeting at which we will describe in detail the design. We will also bring examples of relevant materials and based on the outcome of the meeting, we will then finalise your design.
Final Design
The master plan is a plan that graphically defines how your space will be used. It also provides information on key features and areas for planting.
A number of examples have been included in our portfolio so that you can assess the style and quality of our work.
All of our plans are hand drawn and therefore we are not restricted by the limitations of computer based design packages. Designs are drawn to scale and to a very high standard.
In addition, we can offer scaled side elevations and three dimensional axonometric drawings of your plan.
If you wish us to landscape your garden, we will also fully cost the build of the garden at this stage. We do not believe in hidden extras so all elements of the design will be accounted for.
Planting Plan
We strongly believe that plants are an essential part of any design and that their selection has to be undertaken with care. The complete design requires plants and hard landscaping features to work together to provide the right style and mood. We will create a planting plan and associated planting schedule for the design that will detail the position, size, number and type/cultivar of every plant, tree, shrub and bulb used in the scheme.
